Bhubaneswar: The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) Odisha declared the Results of the Annual HS Exam 2019 for Science Stream at 12 noon on Monday. The results were published at ‘Geeta Govinda’ auditorium in Bhubaneswar in presence of School and Mass Education minister Samir Ranjan Dash. Marks for the same will be available on official websites shortly.

The candidates who had appeared for the exam can check their results at http://www.chseodisha.nic.in and http://orissaresults.nic.in, informed officials of the CHSE. This apart, the results will be available on indiaresults.com.

The overall pass percentage this year stood at 72.33 against 76.98 in 2018.

As per reports, total 40,058 boys (70.4%) cleared the exams while once again girls out-shined boys with pass percentage of 75.02.

This year, Balasore district recorded the highest pass percentage of 86.56, while Gajapati district witnessed a pass percentage of 36.20.

A total of 97,750 students from Science stream had appeared for CHSE annual examinations this year and 70,706 managed to clear the exam.

"I was nervous as there was a delay in evaluation and  publication of results. However, I am happy to score good marks in the examination," said  Lohit Kumar Das, a student.

While nine colleges registered NIL results, as many as 29 colleges recorded 100 per cent results this time.

A total of 3.69 lakh students- 2.35 lakh students in Arts, 97,750 students in Science and around 27,200 students in Commerce stream had appeared for the CHSE Plus Two examinations, which were conducted from March 7, 2019 to March 30, 2019.

"CCTV cameras were installed in nearly 98-99 colleges across the State," said School and Mass Education Minister, Samir Ranjan Dash.

It is pertinent to mention that in 2018, 95,096 students had appeared for the Plus II Science Exams of which 73,211 were able to clear them. While Nayagarh district recorded the highest pass percentage of 92.23, Gajapati district was the lowest witnessing a pass percentage of 43.43. The average pass percentage in Odisha last year was 76.98 in Science stream.
