Bhubaneswar: Khordha Police successfully tracked down a bike lifting gang after studying the CCTV footages of previous thefts executed by the gang members.

According to sources, five persons from the gang allegedly involved in stealing motorcycles from different parts of the district and the State have been nabbed by police. Moreover, 19 bikes and a car have been seized from the miscreants.

Police stated that the five robbers used to move in a car and spot opportunities to break in and steal motorcycles. The group has reportedly stolen bikes from Bhubaneswar, Nayagarh and Phulbani areas.

“After getting regular complaints, we started tracking patterns of theft from CCTV footages from nearby shops. We detected a car moving in the locality of the crime during odd hours. We tracked the vehicle number and started investigating. Subsequently, we were successful in nabbing the gang. ”
