Nachika Linga`s name figures prominently in the `most wanted` list of the Odisha police. Nachika stands accused in the Narayanpatna police station attack and several other sensitive cases. He is on the run since 2009. The government however has invited the CMAS President to come to the negotiation table to discuss the release of the BJD legislator held in captivity by the ultras of the Andhra-Odisha-Border Special Zonal Committee(AOBSZC) of the CPI(Maoist). Nachika has not yet responded to the invitation by the government. However, Nachika`s legal counsel Nihar Patnaik denied that the CMAS leader has no role to play in the negotiations since the Maoists have ruled out to nominate mediators for the talks.
In the mean time, the adviser of the CMAS, Gananath Patra has expressed willingness to take part in the dialogues. Gananath while talking to media persons outside the Jeypore court said that he was prepared to participate in the tlks to free Jhina Hikaka. He however expressed his apprehension that the government was conspiring against Nachika Linga and hence wanted him to take part in the talks.
