Bhubaneswar: The southwest monsoon will finally start retreating from some parts of Odisha in the next two days, informed India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar on Friday.

The Met department further informed that the monsoon will fully retreat from the entire State in the subsequent two days.

Several parts of the State received light to moderate rainfall in the past 24 hours. Though there is no possibility of heavy rainfall, but rain and thunderstorm will continue to lash some parts of the State in the next couple of days.

Apart from Odisha, conditions are also favourable for further withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from remaining parts of Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and North and Central Arabian Sea.

Here is the complete weather outlook for the next couple of days;

Day 1 (Valid from October 23 to 0830 hours of October 24)

Light to moderate rain/ thundershower likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Kandhamal. However, dry weather likely prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Day 2 (Valid from October 24 till 0830 hours of October 25)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Malkangiri and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Day 3 (Valid from October 25 till 0830 hours of October 26)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.
