Bhubaneswar: A minor girl belonging to a Scheduled Tribe, who was working as a domestic help at the house of a senior administrative officer in the Capital city, has alleged rape by the father-in-law of the official.
As per reports, the girl had gone to her native village in Jajpur during Dussehra when she found herself pregnant. She later lodged a complaint at the Balichandrapur Police Station in Jajpur which has reportedly registered a case under POCSO Act against the suspect.
"She was working as a maid at a government officer's house in Bhubaneswar where the official's father-in-law forced her into having relationship with him and impregnated her," alleged lawyer, Udayanath Sahoo.
Meanwhile, Sahoo, while demanding the immediate arrest of the suspect called for fast trial of the case and handing out exemplary punishment to the guilty by the court.
