Cuttack: The Chauliaganj Police on Wednesday nabbed another accused in the alleged gang rape of a 15-year-old girl in Cuttack.

The two accused identified as Santosh Behera and Rakesh Rout were arrested within 24 hours of reporting the incident, the Twin City Commissioner of Police, Sudhansu Sarangi informed through a tweet congratulating Cuttack DCP for speedy action in connection with the matter.

While one of the accused was detained earlier, the other was nabbed by the police yesterday.

"Investigation will be completed early for both accused to stand trial and justice done," assured the Police Commissioner.

The survivor was rescued on the night of October 13 by a team of the Commissionerate Police from Gatirout Patana area of Cuttack and was later handed over to Childline officials.

During counseling by the Childline authorities, the survivor, a Class IX girl revealed that she was forcibly confined in a house for 22 days, raped, blackmailed and threatened for life by both the accused.
