Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre of the IMD has issued intense rainfall warning for the Twin Cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar and other coastal parts of Odisha today.

Intermittent rain/thundershower with one or two spells of intense (2-3 cm per hour) rainfall very likely over Bhubaneswar and Cuttack city area till 10 am, a bulletin issued by the weather department said.

People have been advised to avoid outdoors as much as possible. The weather department has warned of temporary traffic congestion, poor visibility during intense spells and also water logging in low lying areas and underpass.
The Met centre on Wednesday informed that a low pressure area is likely to form over northwest and adjoining the west-central Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast.

It is likely to trigger heavy showers in coastal parts of the State and medium rainfall in other regions. Orange warning has been issued for five districts namely Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Puri, Kendrapara and Dhenkanal today.
