Bhubaneswar: Union Petroleom and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan met the heads of Bhubaneswar Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC), International Centre for Foot and Mouth Disease (ICFMD), All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)-Bhubaneswar and Institute Of Life Sciences (ILS) on Sunday and discussed about Covid-19 management in Odisha and the measures taken to mitigate the pandemic.

RMRC director Sanghamitra Pati, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar director Gitanjali Batmanabane, ILS director Ajay Kumar Parida and an ICFMD expert briefed Pradhan about the situation.

After the meeting, Pradhan hailed their effort. “These four Central institutions are doing a great job along with the state government in the fight against Covid-19,” Pradhan said.

He also appreciated the effort by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) and Paradip Port for setting up Covid-19 hospitals and testing laboratories in the state.

“Various organisations of the Union Government are doing a great job for Covid-19 management in the state. They have made the tough job easier for the State Government with their valuable contributions,” the minister said.

He also heaped praise on Covid-19 fighters for their dedication and determination.

“All the Covid-19 fighters deserve praise. They are all doing a great job. I urge all the people of Odisha to strictly adhere to the Covid-19 guidelines until vaccines are available in the market,” Pradhan added.
