Elaborate arrangements have been made for displaying the results in a number of websites to enable the students to know them without delay, he said. Steps have also been taken to make available the results through SMS in mobile phones for the convenience of the students, the minister said. This year`s matriculation examination was mired in controversy when it was found that some question papers of Regular stream were stolen from a centre after examinations began in the third week of March.
Beginning from March 19 and scheduled to end on March 31, the examination for Regular students was suspended on March 21 after the question paper theft case came to light. A total of seven papers of the examination were rescheduled which began on April 17 and ended in over 2000-odd examination centres on April 26.
While around 4.5 lakh students appeared in the examination, over 6000 of them were booked for malpractices as they were found resorting to unfair means during the examination. Similarly, action was taken against at least a dozen of teachers and two centre superintendents for dereliction of duties during the time of the examination.
