Massive Fire Destroys Coal Tar Pitch Factory In Sambalpur

Sambalpur: A huge fire broke out at a coal tar pitch factory at Jayantpur area of the town late last night causing substantial damage to property.zzx

Even though no loss of lives was reported from the spot, exact estimation of the destruction caused by the blaze was yet to be clear till filing of the latest reports.

According to official sources from the plant, an oil pipe inside the factory burst out triggering fire in the spot. The blaze became severe and engulfed major portion of the factory due to presence of highly immflamble raw materials.

Four teams of fire brigade were pressed into action following the incident but it took nearly 3 hours of intense operation to douse the flames.

Authorities of the plant have said that a probe has been ordered to find out the exact reason behind the mishap.
