Malkangiri: The Red Rebels on Tuesday opposed the recently encounter in which two of their cadres were killed by security forces in Chitrakonda.
In an audio tape, Maoist leader and Andhra-Odisha zonal Committee Secretary Kailash has condemned the killings and action by the administration, police and the Odisha government.
The audio-tape has been released two days after two Maoists, including a woman cadre, were gunned down during an exchange of fire with the Special Operations Group (SOG) and District Voluntary Force (DVF) personnel at ‘Swabhiman Anchal’ in the district on Sunday.
The security forces had also seized a huge cache of explosives and Maoist articles from the spot.

On Monday, the Director General (DG) of Police Abhay visited Malkangiri’s Swabhiman Anchal (cut off area) and reviewed the anti-Maoist operations in the region.
While talking to reporters, Abhay said the morale of security forces was high after the recent success in the anti-naxal operations in Swabhiman Anchal of Malkangiri district.
The Maoists are trying to attack security forces and we are giving a befitting reply. The moral of security personnel is high and we are determined to free Swabhiman Anchal from Maoist influence,” said the DGP.
