Ramakanta Biswas

Cuttack: It appears that Prafulla Biswal, the prime accused in the Mahanga double murder case had a premonition of the road accident in which he subsequently succumbed. Because, Biswal had allegedly told his minor son not to hold anyone responsible for his accident, the minor told media on Tuesday.

"My father called me up and asked about my mother. When I told him that mom had gone to maternal uncle's house, he asked me to inform her that he was under severe tension," Om Prakash, the deceased's son told OTV.

"If I meet with an accident, don't make anyone responsible or blame anyone," the minor told quoting his father.

The statement of the deceased's son came a day after Ramakant Baral, the son of slain BJP leader Kulamani Baral, alleged that Prafulla had called him up before his death.

During the phone call, Prafulla had claimed that he was framed in the case by Odisha Minister Pratap Jena, alleged Ramakant, who also filed an FIR with Mahanga police in this regard.

“I swear by Lord Jagannath that Minister Pratap Jena has framed me in the case,” Ramakant quoted Prafulla as saying in the FIR, a copy of which was accessed by OTV.

“We were involved in three murder cases on behalf of the Minister,” Prafulla had allegedly told the slain BJP leader’s son requesting him to take care of his children before disconnecting the call.

Prafulla, who was the prime accused in the murder of BJP leader Kulamani Baral and his associate Dibyasingha Baral, was found dead near Nua Bandal Chhak in Tangi area of Cuttack on February 6. While police claimed that he died in an accident, the BJP had termed it a well-planned murder.
