Bhubaneswar: Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) leakage caused fire and subsequently triggered the massive explosion at the petrol filling station near Raj Bhawan on Wednesday that killed one person and left many injured, according to the preliminary investigations.
Deputy Chief Controller, Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) Odisha, Ruab Ali said the leakage occurred when the LPG was being stored in the CNG chamber. There was a leakage which caused a fire that triggered the blast.

Around 4.5 tonnes of LPG was in the chamber when the blast occurred, Ali added.
"Preliminary inquiry is done and a report will be submitted once a detailed probe is carried out," he said.
Police are inquiring into the casualties and injuries in the mishap, PESO deputy chief controller said.
