Bhubaneswar/Sundergarh: Kidnappers have reportedly released Sundergarh sadar police station inspector Bamdev Sankual and ASI Lochan Nayak after taking them into custody at gun point last night. The police however have managed to arrest two in this connection.
On receipt of information about loot from Santosh petrol pump near NH 10, four police teams followed the miscreants in one of which team both Sankhual and Nayak were present. Taking advantage of the dense forest, the miscreants took hostage the duo. Later in the morning they released the cops after snatching service revolvers from their possession.
Special Operation Group (SOG) and the district police have jointly started combing operation in the area under Sundergarh SP Sanjeeb Arora. The police have managed to seize two Tata magic vehicles and three motor cycles from the jungle.
