Bhubaneswar: The Khordha Superintendent of Police (SP) Ajay Pratap Swain has been tested positive for coronavirus.

According to sources, swab samples were collected from all staff at the district police headquarters after one staff tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The SP today informed that his swab report has come out positive.

The top cop has no COVID-19 symptoms and advised to go for home isolation. If his health condition deteriorates, he will be shift to COVID care hospital, sources informed.

As Swain has recently met the newly appointed collector and participated in the silent prayer observed yesterday to pay tribute to COVID warriors, the contact tracing process will be initiated.

Last month, as many as 11 police personnel of various police stations and outposts in Banpur and Balugaon areas in Khordha tested positive for coronavirus.

The frontline warriors of different police stations and outposts have contracted Coronavirus in their line of duty.
