New Delhi: Former Kendrapara MP Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda’s first book, 'Lutyens' Maverick' was launched at a special function held at New Delhi today in presence of several eminent personalities and political leaders cutting across political lines.

“In the 18 years that I served in the Parliament, I have tried to keep a foot in Delhi and resolutely another foot back in my constituency, State and country. I think often that there tend to be two worlds that don’t understand each other and don't always talk in the same language. It is crucial for all whether they are in media, politics or are from any other walk of life to bridge the gap and that is what I have tried to convey in my book,” said Panda during the book launch.

According to sources, Lutyens' Maverick focuses on several burning issues from one nation, two elections to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and NDA’s governance; from tensions on the border to responsibility of new Prime Minister of Pakistan. The former Parliamentarian has also highlighted some harsh realities such as rising crime against women.

Panda stated that the book deals with what needs to be done to bring a systematic change in India and Odisha as well. "It is a thought provoking one as I have tried to present the issues of the country before the youths," he added.

Noted political leaders including Ravi Shankar Prasad, Alka Lamba, Manish Tewari, Praful Patel and other dignitaries were present and a panel discussion was also held during the launch today.
