Jajpur: Miscreants Loot Rs 1.5 Lakh, Gold Ornaments From Businessman At Gunpoint

Jajpur: Miscreants decamped with gold ornaments, Rs 1.5 lakh and a scooty after attacking a business with sharp weapons near Brahmabarada under Dharmasala block in Jajpur district Tuesday night.

Maheswar sustained severe injuries on his head, right hand and leg in the attack and admitted to Jajpur hospital for treatment.

Reports said, Maheswar was returning home after closing his jewellery showroom at around 8 PM when three bike-borne assailants stopped him near Brahmabarada at gunpoint.

They also attacked him with sharp weapons and fled the spot after snatching the gold and silver ornaments, Rs 1.5 lakh and scooty from him, added reports.

Police rushed to the spot after receiving information and started investigation in connection with the incident. However, the exact amount of assets looted is yet to be revealed by the police.
