Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre here has predicted a drop in minimum temperature from the next week onwards. However, foggy and chilly conditions have started to grip many interior areas of the State.

On Wednesday, the lowest minimum temperature of 13 degree Celsius was observed in Phulbani, Sundargarh and the picturesque Daringbadi. Next in the chart is Koraput with a night temperature of 14.2 degrees, Baripada 15 degrees, Keonjhar 15.6 degrees, Bhawanipatna 16.8, and Malkangiri, Nayagarh, Chandbali with 17 deg C. The twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar witnessed night temperature of 16.2 and 17.8 degrees, respectively. MeT has said once the impact of easterlies dies down, mercury levels will come down.

As per the latest prediction, dry weather is most likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha. Today and tomorrow, shallow to moderate fog conditions are very likely to occur at one or two places in the morning over the districts of Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput, Nayagarh, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Cuttack.

The MeT forecast further reveals that the weather is likely to remain dry in all districts of Odisha during the next 3-4 days.
