Berhampur: Incessant rain triggered by a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal has thrown normal life out of gear in many parts of Odisha. The continuous downpour has resulted in water logging at Shanti Nagar colony here in the district.

The water logging hazard has adversely affected normal life and daily commute in the area forcing the netizens to stay indoors since last 3 days.

According to sources, the main reason behind logging is the blockage of drainage system. The blockage of drains has also led the water to get into many houses in the area.

Locals alleged that this problem has been prevailing in the area since last few years.

"There is no proper drainage system in our area since the last 25 years. Even after requesting the authorities to take necessary action, seems like they are least interested", alleged a local.
