Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted rain and thunderstorm activities in different parts of Odisha in the next 24 hours.
While light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is likely to occur in several parts of Mayurbhanj and Balasore, Yellow warning (thunderstorm and lightning alert) has been issued for both the districts.
As per IMD, the maximum temperature in Odisha is expected to rise by 2 to 3 degree Celsius during the next two days.
In view of the IMD’s forecast, the office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has directed Collectors of 12 districts to remain alert and take appropriate action.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hours of March 30 to 0830 hours of March 31)
Yellow Warning: Heat wave condition likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Sonepur.
Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hours of March 31 to 0830 hours of April 1)
Yellow Warning: Heat wave condition likely to occur over the districts of Bolangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur , Angul, Boudh and Kalahandi.
Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hours of April 1 to 0830 hours of April 2)
Yellow Warning: Heat wave condition likely to prevail over the districts of Bolangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Angul, Boudh and Kalahandi.
Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hours of April 2 to 0830 hours of April 3)
Light to moderate rain or thundershower likely to occur over the districts of Koraput, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khordha.
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Gajapati, Ganjam and Kandhamal.
