Bhubaneswar: With the fresh low pressure over north Andaman sea and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal set to intensify into a depression in the next few hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday has issued heavy rainfall warning for several parts of Odisha.

As per the Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, the low pressure system is likely to concentrate into a depression over central Bay of Bengal by tomorrow (October 10).

Further, it is likely to move West-northwestwards and cross north Andhra Pradesh coast as a depression on October 12.

Under its impact, light to moderate rain or thundershower is likely to occur at isolated places over many districts in Odisha for the next two-three days.

Warning:

(Valid from 0830 hrs IST of October 11 upto 0830 hrs IST of October 12)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is also likely to occur at most places over the districts of south coastal Odisha, south interior & north coastal Odisha and at a few places over the districts of north interior Odisha.

Orange Warning ( Be prepared): Heavy to very heavy rainfall warning has been issued for Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada and Puri districts.

Yellow Warning ( Be updated): Heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Kandhamal, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda and Nayagarh.

Orange Warning ( Be prepared): Heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam and Puri.

Yellow Warning ( Be updated): Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Bhadrak and Balasore.
