Bhubaneswar: As per India Meteorological Department’s latest forecast, a fresh low pressure has formed over Andaman Sea and adjoining East-central Bay of Bengal (BOB) today.

The system is likely to concentrate into a Depression by tomorrow (October 10).

IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar said, the system will subsequently move west-northwestwards and cross north Andhra Pradesh coast as a depression on October 12.

“The cyclonic circulation over Gulf of Thailand & neighbourhood now emerged into north Andaman Sea & neighbourhood. Under its influence, a low pressure area has formed over north Andaman Sea & its neighbourhood,” tweeted Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre.

Under its influence, adverse weather is likely over Andaman Sea, south & central Bay of Bengal between October 9 and 12 and over Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Telangana, interior Karnataka and adjoining Maharashtra during October 11 and 12.

Warning:

Light to moderate rainfall at many places likely to occur over Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Interior Karnataka and Marathwada with heavy rainfall at isolated places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and interior Karnataka on October 10.

Light to moderate rainfall at most places likely to occur over coastal Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Marathwada and Vidarbha with heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over coastal Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, interior Karnataka, Marathwada and Vidarbha on October 11&12.

Squally wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 65 kmph over west-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal, southwest Bay of Bengal and along & off Odisha- Andhra Pradesh-Tamil Nadu & Puducherry coasts from October 11(early hours) till the forenoon of October 12.
