Fire breaks out at paper plate factory in Rayagada

Rayagada: Property worth lakhs were gutted in a major fire at a paper plate factory in Rayagada district today.

According to reports, the flames were noticed today morning at Sai Paper mill situated at Rayat colony on the outskirts of Rayagada town.

On receiving information two fire tenders were pressed into service to bring the blaze under control.

“Soon after getting information, we rushed to the spot with a fire fighting vehicle. However, as the flames were uncontrollable, one more fire tender had to be called” said a fire official, Pitamber Sahu.

Though the exact reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained, property worth lakhs have reportedly been damaged in the mishap.
