Durga Puja 2020: Ganjam Admin Issues Guidelines For Dussehra Celebrations
Berhampur: The district administration of Ganjam has reportedly issued guidelines to be followed during the observance of Durga Puja and Dussehra this year in view of the prevailing Covid-19 situation.
The height of the Durga idol has been capped at 4-ft for all the puja pandals and mandaps.
This apart, restrictions have been imposed on public gathering, with strict compliance of social distancing norms at the pandals. For smooth and hassle-free conduct of the puja, the administration has stated that more than 7 persons (including priests and puja committee members) will not be allowed to assemble at any given point of time.
This year, there will be no public participation and no grand immersion ceremony. Moreover, the administration has imposed restrictions on the organisation of cultural programmes and other events.
The authorities have also warned of action if anyone is found violating the Covid-related guidelines.
