Cuttack: On the ongoing controversy between the BJD MP Anubhav Mohanty and his wife and Ollywood actress Varsha Priyadarshini, president of BJD's Cuttack district unit Debasish Samantaray on Monday said that the Parliamentarian should not wash dirty linen in public.
Samantaray said that when it comes to keeping one's image intact before people, a politician should learn from Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Naveen Patnaik is an example in the country as to how a politician should behave. A person linked with politics should emulate him. The CM's mantra is not to fall in front of the eye of people and it's regrettable when one can't learn it from him, said Samantaray.
He further said, "If a BJD leader is unable to get and emulate the ideology of the CM, it's disheartening."
It is pertinent to mention here that the Purighat police on Sunday registered a case against BJD MP Anubhav Mohanty basing on a domestic violence and dowry torture complaint lodged by his wife Varsha Priyadarshini.
A case has reportedly been lodged under section 498 (A), 506 and 341of IPC against Mohanty and his two associates.
Later, police recorded the statement of Varsha in connection with the domestic violence and dowry torture case under Section 161 of CrPC.
In her complaint, the actress has reportedly alleged that her husband Anubhav Mohanty prevented her from entering the bedroom on Friday night and forced her to stand alone on the road outside the in-laws residence for around one hour.
Earlier, Varsha had filed a domestic violence case at the Cuttack Sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate (SJDM) court on September 5 accusing the BJD MP of torturing her physically and mentally.
