Koraput: A staff of National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) was suspended on Friday after his video dancing inside Koraput COVID hospital went viral on social media.

The employee, posted as chargeman Gr.II (Transport pool mines) at NALCO, has now been placed under suspension on the charges of misconduct. As per sources, the concerned NALCO employee was admitted to the COVID hospital for treatment on July 5 and was later discharged on July 15.

“... you have committed certain acts of serious misconduct during your stay at Covid Hospital, Jeypore from July 5 to July 15, 2020 for your treatment and it is not considered desirable that you should remain on duty and enter the work premises. Accordingly, as per the provisions of Order No. 27 (B)(ii) of the Certified Standing Orders of the Company, you are placed under suspension with immediate effect. The chargesheet setting out the details of misconduct(s) will follow within seven days,” an official release of NALCO read.
