Nayagarh: In a bid to curb the spread of Covid-19, the district collector on Friday ordered a two-day shutdown in Nayagarh town. According to the collector's orders the town will be shut down completely on coming Monday & Tuesday.

According to the collector, the town will be sanitised during the shutdown period.

Earlier today, the Jharsuguda district administration also ordered the closure of all street food shops for the next fifteen days. The district administration has decided to grant financial assistance of Rs 2,500 to vendors to compensate for the losses incurred during the fortnight-long closure.

Strong action will be taken and fine imposed on those who disobey the order, the district collector tweeted.

According to the data of the state Health and Family Welfare Department, total Covid-19 cases have reached 3,910 in Jharsuguda district. A total of 2,927 patients have recovered while there are 982 active cases. The district has reported one COVID19 death so far.
