Cuttack: In what could be a positive sign in the ongoing battle against COVID-19, the millennium city of Cuttack on Friday reported 37 new positive cases, lowest daily count in the last two months, sources said.
The latest data released by the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) revealed that out of the 98 new COVID-19 positive cases reported in Cuttack district in the last 24 hours, 37 were from Cuttack city.

The city also reported 52 recoveries while one COVID-19 patient succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, CMC tweeted.
Of the 37 new cases, 20 were local contact cases while the remaining 11 were reported from quarantine centres.
Earlier in the day, Odisha’s COVID-19 tally went up to 2,88,646 on Friday after 1547 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours. Of the 1547 new cases, 891 COVID-19 cases were reported from quarantine centres while 656 are local contact cases, informed State I&PR department.
The COVID-19 death toll in the State climbed to 1308 with 11 more fatalities in the last 24 hours.
