Bhubaneswar: In a declining trend, Odisha has registered 2275 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, the lowest daily-cases in several weeks, pushing the virus tally to 256937 on Tuesday. Of the fresh cases, 1318 patients are from quarantine while 957 are local contact cases, informed State I&PR department.
As many as seven districts reported a daily surge of 100 or more daily positive cases. Khordha district has recorded 364 new positives, followed by Sundargarh (150), Cuttack (144), Angul (136), Balasore (111), Mayurbhanj (110) and Jharsuguda (100) districts.

As per the State Health & Family Welfare department, 17 more patients succumbed to the infection during the period, taking the virus toll in Odisha to 1057.

Official reports reveal 40058 samples were tested on Monday for COVID-19 that include 6770 RT-PCR, 33230 samples via Antigen testing, and 58 samples via Truenat testing, taking the number of samples tested cumulatively across the state to 3836825.
So far, 230192 patients have recuperated from the disease in Odisha, while the active case count stands at 25635.
