India so far has reported over 3.80 lakh confirmed COVID-19 cases, 13,586 new infections in the last 24 hours, with an overall recovery count above 2 lakh. The trend is changing, and so are the COVID figures. The national recovery rate has touched 53.79%, up from 38.29% on May 18, while over 20 States have been able to manage the SARS-CoV-2 a tad better than the country's average.

Rajasthan is currently leading in the battle against Coronavirus by achieving 77.52% recovery rate of COVID patients, followed by MP with 75.54%, Bihar (71.97%), Punjab (71.09%).

Now coming to Odisha, there have been 4512 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the State (as on June 19, 8 AM) and 2,16,607 persons have been tested out of which 212095 were found negative. Of the total patients, 3144 were cured of Covid-19 as on June 19 (8 AM) which brings the State to number 5 when States/UTs with confirmed cases above 1000 are compared. The cure rate (CR) was hovering over 70% till Thursday but has now come down to 69.68%, as per Health Ministry data.

It is important to mention that the cure rate of a State depends on a number of parameters such as the count of patients in a hospital and their duration of stay, etc. Subsequently, with their timely discharge the cure rate is also likely to rise, predict experts.

According to MoHFW, the highest number of confirmed COVID cases in the country is from Maharashtra (120504 cases as on 8AM today), followed by Tamil Nadu at 52334, Delhi inching towards 50k mark with 49979 cases, Gujarat at 25601, Uttar Pradesh at 15181 and Rajasthan at 13857. The n-CoV tally has gone up to 12735 in West Bengal, 11426 in MP, 9218 in Haryana, 7944 in Karnataka, 7518 in Andhra Pradesh and 7025 in Bihar.
