As per Health department, two more non-COVID deaths were reported in Odisha in the last 24 hours.
2. An 83-year old Male of Bhubaneswar due to uncontrolled Diabetes, Acute Kidney Injury and Metabolic Acidosis.

On the other hand, the COVID-19 tally in Odisha crossed the 17,000-mark after 736 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

As per I & PR department, highest of 255 cases were reported from Ganjam district followed by 107 cases from Khurda, 45 cases from Koraput, 40 cases each from Jagatsinghpur and Jajpur, 39 from Gajapati and 27 from Cuttack district.
Of the 736 new cases, 481 positive cases were reported from various quarantine centres and 255 are local contact cases.
It is pertinent to mention here that Odisha is witnessing a surge in COVID-19 cases since July. On July 10, the state had reported the highest single-day spike of 755 cases.
