Bhubaneswar: As many as 72 persons recuperated from COVID-19 in Odisha, taking the total recoveries to 2354 on Thursday.

A highest of 17 recoveries have been reported from Ganjam district, followed by 9 from Sonepur district, 7 from Bolangir, 6 from Jagatsinghpur, 5 each from Cuttack, Kalahandi & Sundargarh, 4 each from Balasore & Mayurbhanj and 3 each from Khurda, Kandhamal & Sambalpur and 1 from Jharsuguda district.

Earlier, 136 more people including 54 ODRAF/ NDRF/Fire Services personnel were tested positive for Covid-19 in Odisha in the last 24 hours, taking the State’s tally to 3386 on Thursday.

Khurda district reported highest 17 coronavirus cases followed by Kandhamal (15), Mayurbhanj (9), Keonjhar (8), Cuttack (7) and Jharsuguda (4).

Similarly, three each Covid-19 cases were detected from Dhenkanal, Puri and Ganjam districts, two each cases from Nuapada and Kalahandi while one each case was reported from Kendrapara and Sambalpur.

Of the fresh Covid-19 cases, 134 were detected from quarantine centres and two are local contacts, added State I & PR department.

Earlier on Wednesday, while 110 persons were tested positive for Covid-19, as many as 149 Covid-19 patients recovered from the disease.
