Bhubaneswar: The death toll due to Covid-19 in Odisha reached 522 on Thursday with eight more fatalities while detection of 3631 new cases pushed the Coronavirus cumulative caseload to 113411.

While Ganjam reported three deaths, two casualties were reported from Cuttack and one each from Balasore, Kandhamal and Khordha districts.

Similarly, of the fresh cases reported from across 30 districts, 2214 were detected from various quarantine centres while 1417 are local contact cases.

According to the data shared by I & PR department, Khordha reported the highest 722 new novel coronavirus cases followed by Cuttack (370), Mayurbhanj (365), Bargarh (238), Bhadrak (186), Puri (157), Jajpur (127), Balasore (114), Rayagada (111), Ganjam (107) and Nayagarh (100).

The Health and Family Welfare Department shared the details of eight Covid-19 positive patients who succumbed while under treatment in hospitals.

  1. A 60-year-old male of Balasore district who was also suffering from Diabetes, Hypertension, Chronic Kidney Disease (stage-V), Ischemic Heart Disease.
  2. A 72-year-old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes & Hypertension.
  3. A 66-year-old female of Cuttack district who was also suffering from Diabetes.
  4. A 67-year-old male of Cuttack district who was also suffering from Diabetes, Bronchial Asthma.
  5. A 78-year-old female of Ganjam district who was also suffering from Diabetes.
  6. A 56-year-old male of Ganjam district who was also suffering from Diabetes.
  7. A 45-year-old male of Ganjam district.
  8. A 50-year-old female of Kandhamal district who was also suffering from Diabetes.
