Bhubaneswar: In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Odisha government has decided to run all State government offices in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar with 50 per cent of the total staff strength in November.

According to notification issued by the General Administration and Public Grievances department, “All departments of the State government and sub-ordinate offices in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack shall function with 50 per cent strength of employees (all staff including Group-A Officers) during the month of November, 2020 and ensure that the office work does not suffer.”

“However, the essential offices and services such as SRC and OSDMA offices, Police, Fire Services, Health Services, Municipal services shall function in full strength,” the notification read.

Moreover, all State government offices across the State will remain closed on Saturdays, while the department or head of the offices will decide the manner of selection of employees who will attend the office, the notification stated.

“The officers or staff who have been provided with VPN, shall work from home, when not assigned roster duty. They must be available to attend to any office work of urgent nature, at short notice and be available on telephone at all times. Administrative Departments will decide the scale of operations in Sub-ordinate and field offices,” the notification stated further.
