Jeypore: The Koraput district administration has launched a door-to-door survey in Jeypore to trace and test people with COVID-19 symptoms.
The district administration has formed separate teams comprising an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM), Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA), Anganwadi worker, ‘Swasthya Sathi’ and a teacher for each ward.
“We have formed 98 teams to conduct door-to-door survey. Each team will be supervised by a medical officer,” said Koraput Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO), Makaranda Beura.
"The teams will visit each house in the city and if found any individual with COVID-19 symptoms, he/she will be referred to COVID hospital for antigen test," said Beura.
Pallabi Das, a teacher and member of the screening team, said, “The district administration has provided us with a screening metre, sanitiser, mask and hand gloves. We are visiting door to door to identify the people showing symptoms of coronavirus.”
Earlier, the district administration had conducted a door-to-door survey in Koraput municipality.
Meanwhile, the Koraput administration has imposed shutdown in Jeypore Municipality for four days. The restrictions will continue till July 28.
Koraput has so far reported 451 COVID-19 cases of which 289 are active cases while 162 patients have already recovered from the virus.
