Bhubaneswar: The death toll due to Covid-19 touched the 100-mark in Odisha capital with four more persons succumbing to the disease in the last 24 hours.
A total of 16 coronavirus patients died in the State in the last 24 hours of which four hailed from the capital city. The other deaths were reported from Nayagarh district (3), Khurda (2), Cuttack (2), Balasore (2), Bargarh (1), Kalahandi (1) and Jagatsinghpur (1).
Bhubaneswar also registered 312 new Covid-19 positive cases taking the total number of cases to 22,547, according to the information shared by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Of the total fresh cases, a whopping 254 were local contact cases while the remaining 58 are quarantined cases, the civic body said in a tweet.
The State capital now has 3514 active cases while 18,914 have recovered from the disease.
Earlier in the day, Odisha reported 3600 new Covid-19 cases taking the cumulative caseload to 226334. Khurda district tops the list with highest 766 new cases followed by Cuttack which reported 358 new cases, Mayurbhanj (156), Kendrapara (129), Sonepur (129), Sambalpur (126), Nabarangpur (116), Puri (115), Balasore (107), Bargarh (106), Keonjhar (106) and Angul (100).
