Bhubaneswar: As many as 10 people succumbed to the COVID-19 infection in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll due to coronavirus in Odisha to 197, informed the State Health and Family Welfare Department.
While four COVID-19 patients died in Ganjam, three deaths were reported from Khurda (including 1 from Bhubaneswar). Sundergarh, Kalahandi and Jajpur reported one death each, informed the Health department.

One more COVID-19 positive died of other reasons. With this, the non-COVID death toll in the State jumped to 39.
It is pertinent to mention here that Odisha is witnessing a steep rise in COVID-19 cases and fatalities since July.
So far, Ganjam has reported the maximum number of COVID-19 casualties with the toll reaching 103 in the district on Sunday. At least 28 COVID-19 deaths have been reported from Khurda, 11 deaths each from Cuttack and Gajapati districts, 10 from Sundergarh, 7 from Rayagada and three each from Puri, Nayagarh and Balasore.
Two COVID-19 deaths each have been reported from Angul, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kandhamal, Kendrapara and Malkangiri districts till today.
