Coronavirus: Week-Long Closure Of Banks In Kandhamal

Phulbani: In view of rising cases of Covid-19 infections among bank professionals, the Kandhamal district administration on Wednesday ordered closure of all banking establishments in the district for one week.

The order which comes into effect immediately was issued after several officials working in different banks at district-level were detected positive in recent days, stated the official order issued by district Collector Dr. Brundha D.

During the closure, all employees of the bank establishments will remain in home isolation and proper sanitisation and disinfection of office premises and chambers of the banks will be undertaken.

The administration has directed that if any employee develops symptoms he/she should immediately report to CDM & PHO, Kandhamal and district administration. Swab test to be ensured for symptomatic employee, the order said.

The branch managers of the concerned banks are instructed to ensure adequate feeding of cash in all ATM counters to meet the requirements of customers. No employee should leave headquarter without prior permissions of the Collector, the notification added.

Home quarantine should strictly adhere to COVID-19 guidelines. In containment zones the bank will remain closed and the functionaries associated with ATM feeding will have to take vehicle permission from district administration.

After one week the banks will function with 50% staff strictly adhering to COVID-19 guidelines i.e maintaining social distance, wearing mask during work hours at all time, regular hand washing, use of sanitiser, disinfecting/sanitising office building/common spaces at regular interval.

All bank branches have been asked to assign a covid compliance audit officer who will monitor the adherence of staff to Covid-19 guidelines and submit the weekly audit compliance report to deokandhamal@gmail.com.
