Bhubaneswar: Even as COVID-19 cases are showing no signs of nearing a peak; there are three districts in the State where the total active cases have now reduced to single digits, including one with none.

As per the data from the State dashboard (till 5 pm today), Nuapada district currently has ‘zero’ active cases. Of the total 100 COVID-19 cases reported from the district, all patients have recovered.

Similarly, the other two districts which have active COVID-19 cases in single digits are Deogarh and Kalahandi. Deogarh so far has reported 69 COVID-19 cases and 66 persons have already recovered. The total active cases in the district currently stand at three. There are only nine active cases in Kalahandi district as out of the total 87 COVID-19 positive cases, 78 have already recovered.

It is pertinent to mention here that the total COVID-19 cases in Odisha on Tuesday reached 18,757 after 647 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours. A whopping 225 new cases were reported from Ganjam district which continues to remain on top with a total of 5,991 cases so far. The active cases in the district now stand at 2,057.

Apart from Ganjam, COVID-19 cases are also increasing rapidly in Jajpur, Khurda and Cuttack districts. Khurda district remains the second-worst affected district after Ganjam with a total of 2,098 COVID-19 cases.

The number of active cases in Khurda stands at 875 with 1,202 recoveries. Cuttack district has reported 1,327 cases with 368 of them active. The total recoveries in the district stand at 947. Jajpur district has reported 1,023 COVID-19 cases, of which 839 persons have already recovered while the total active cases in the district are 182.
