Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the by-elections to two Assembly constituencies in Odisha, the Congress on Sunday appointed presidents of 30 districts and three cities in the State.

The appointments have been made with immediate effect following the approval of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), an official release read.

Biswajit Das has been appointed chief of Bhubaneswar city while Suresh Routray is the new president of the party unit in Khordha. Similarly, Giribala Behera is the chief of Cuttack city.

Other appointees are Biplab Jena (Angul), Bolangir (Dilip Kumar Behera), Nihar Mahananda (Bargarh), Sanjiv Giri (Balasore), Subrat Das (Bhadrak), Naba Kishore Mishra (Boudh), Manas Choudhury (Cuttack), Uma Shankar Sahu (Deogarh), Saroj Patnaik (Dhenkanal), Ramesh Jena (Ganjam), Dasarathi Gamango (Gajapati), Natabar Barik (Jagatsinghpur), Manoj Kumar Rout (Jajpur), Bharat Avasti (Jharsuguda). Anam Nayak (Kandhamal), Anshuman Mohanty (Kendrapara), Biplab Mishra (Keonjhar), Minakshi Bahinipati (Koraput), Hemanta Das (Mayurbhanj), Gobinda Patra (Malkangiri), Manoranjan Tripathy (Nabarangpur), Ranajeet Das (Nayagarh), Ghasiram Majhi (Nuapada), Ajit Mangaraj (Puri), George Tirkey (Rourkela), Durga Prasad Panda (Rayagada), Aswini Guru (Sambalpur), Gouri Shyam Panda (Subarnapur), Benu Madhab Tripathy (Sundergarh) and Bharat Bhusan Bemal (Kalahandi).
