Bhikaramesan colony primary school in Malkangiri appears to be built on a pond and the students travel through knee deep water to reach school.
As per reports, the school gets water logged due to the water of a damaged drain close to the school. The students have complained of reptiles moving in the water also.
Parents of the students have expressed a deep concern mentioning it is dangerous for their as there are chances that they may fall a victim to reptiles like snakes while moving through the water pool.
“It is very dangerous that our children have to wade through the pool of water everyday as they may fall a victim to any snake or some other poisonous reptile. Hence, the water should be drained out,” a parent Manoj Khara said.
“We don’t have any problem but the kids fail to come,” a girl student Pramila Khara said.
When contacted, the headmaster of the school said, she has brought the problem to the notice of the concerned authorities.
“I have brought the matter to the notice of the authorities but they have not done anything so far to drain out the water,” Headmistress Prabharani Das said.
Now, the long-standing problem has caused many problems to the wards following which studies are getting affected.
