Bhubaneswar: Campuses in various educational institutions experienced high voltage campaigning on the last day today as candidates left no stone unturned to woo voters to their side.
Campaigning at BJB and Capital Law colleges in Bhubaneswar intensified on the last day with candidates engaging in promotion of sorts. Printed t-shirts, flowers, chocolates and gifts were distributed by candidates seeking support of fellow students.
Meanwhile, candidates at Kamala Nehru College in Bhubaneswar cried foul after a BJD-supported candidate allegedly waved the party's flag inside the college campus. The opposing candidates lodged a complaint with the college authorities citing it to be a violation of the Lyngdoh Committee Recommendations. However, the accused candidate refuted the charges levelled against her.
“There was no violation of the Lyngdoh Committee Recommendations on my part, as we waved the flags outside the campus,” said uncontested candidate, Somyashree Priyadarshani.
Before the voting day, the candidates will be required to propose their manifesto during the ‘Why I stand for’ meeting scheduled to be held on Thursday.
