Bhubaneswar: The Quick Action Team (QAT) of the Commissionerate Police has seized 300 gram brown sugar worth around Rs 30 lakh from Pahala area in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off, the QAT carried out a raid and seized the drug which was being carried by the traffickers to Bhubaneswar for peddling. Police reportedly chased down the drug peddlers belonging to Jaleswar and Bhubaneswar and arrested three persons in this connection.
On September 28, the QAT had seized 60 gram brown sugar from Tamando area of the capital city and managed to arrest two persons.
In another incident last month, QAT along with Mancheswar police conducted a joint raid at Chakeisiani area and busted a duplicate lubricant manufacturing unit. As per reports, approximately 13000 litres Kerosene, 16000 litres burnt Mobil and transformer oil with accessories were seized.
