Bhubaneswar: Close on the heels of dramatic rescue of a student in Cuttack, another engineering student in Berhampur has been rescued from the ‘deadly’ trap of the Blue Whale Game that has now become a social menace worldwide.

The latest incident has been reported from Ralaba village in Hinjili where an engineering student was rescued by police here on Sunday.

The student reportedly completed four levels of the online Blue Whale game that eventually forces its players to commit suicide.

The engineering student had posted some pictures on his Facebook page regarding completing of few task with a picture of a whale on his hand.

A youth after coming across such post on the social networking website, reported the matter to police.

This is second incident which points to the spread of Blue Whale Game in Odisha on a single day.

Earlier, a 35-year-old had taken ill after taking up a task in the online challenge in Kendrapara.

According to reports, the youth from Mangalpur village was rescued by family while attempting to inflict injuries on his body with a sharp weapon. He has been admitted to hospital after consuming excess alcohol yesterday, sources said.

Family members claimed that it is was for the past few days that they noticed some changes in his behaviour. When confronted, the youth confessed to have played the online Blue Whale challenge.

The youth was drawing blue whale on ground and was attempting to cut his stomach when he was rescued yesterday. However, it is still unclear on how many tasks the youth had performed so far in the Blue Whale game.

Meanwhile, the condition of the youth is said to be stable and police have started a probe into the incident.
