Jajpur: A ninth class boy of Madhupur Garh High School under Jenapur police station in Jajpur district was rescued from clutches of Blue Whale game on Thursday.
The boy was reportedly playing the suicide game since 15 days but his family members did not have any clue of it. He had informed his friends about playing the game. However, his school headmaster came to know about it and informed Jenapur police.
Police rescued the boy and also counseled his family about the consequences of the game.
“The boy said he has downloaded the game but denied playing it. When I asked for his mobile and he said it was his brother’s mobile. I doubted him and went to his house where his mother said the boy keeps playing games on mobile till 11 pm and watches horror movies. His mother also said about some of his other activities that shared some similarity with the symptoms seen in victims of Blue Whale game,” said SI of Jenapur police station Ramesh Mahani.
Earlier today, Jajpur police conducted an awareness drive in the school to sensitize students to stay away from this game.
