Puri: In a shocking incident, a woman poisoned her two sons and then attempted suicide leading to the death of her 9-year old son.
According to sources, the woman mixed poison in her sons' dinner on Monday night and also consumed poison herself. When the incident, which occurred in Baselisahi in Paikasahi area came to the notice of the neighbours, all three were shifted to the Puri hospital yesterday night. Unfortunately, the younger son died while being taken to the hospital. After the health condition of the elder son deteriorated, he was shifted to Cuttack hospital yesterday night.
Meanwhile, after the woman’s health condition was reported critical,she too was also shifted to Cuttack hospital today morning, added sources.
Sources informed that there were continuous fights between the woman and her husband over some family and financial problems. On Monday also, the couple had a fight before the woman took this extreme step.
Police have reached the spot and begun their investigation.
