Bhubaneswar: After failing to get justice from the police department, the woman who had earlier accused the Inspector-In-Charge of Pattamundai police station of sexual harassment today sought the intervention of State Women Commission (SCW) for justice.

As per the woman’s statement, the IIC of Pattamundai PS Ramesh Chandramukhi passed indecent remarks and assaulted her inside the police station on May 20 when she went to file a complaint on a family dispute.

The police officer even forced her to come to his government residence and sexually harassed her. However, she resisted the officer’s advances and managed to escape from the spot, the statement read.

Later, she lodged a complaint at the Kendrapara SP office following which a probe was ordered.

Meanwhile, State Progressive Women`s Forum president Mamata alleged that even though the Kendrapara SP had soon after the incident told mediapersons that DSP SN Das has been directed to investigate into the case, no action has so far been taken against the IIC.

"We want the SCW to intervene and help her get justice," said Mamata.
