New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Friday announced results of the Civil Services 2017 examination. While Anudeep Durishetty from Hyderabad topped the examination, the top candidate from Odisha was Subhankar Mohapatra who secured 46th rank.
"During graduation I had decided that Civil Services will be a great platform to not just do a meaningful job but to contribute to society. My father has been a major figure in my life and he has been great source of inspiration," said Anudeep Durishetty.

"It is my third attempt and I am very glad to secure Rank 401. I started IAS preparation after completing my graduation in Computer Science. I had visited Gujarat during my second attempt and Delhi for my third attempt. I have never attended any coaching class for the Civil Services," said Babitarani Swain.
"I am feeling great; it was my fifth attempt and I am very glad to achieve success for my hard work. My first preference is Indian Foreign Service (IFS) as I want to represent the country in a global stage," said Manoranjan Behera.
"After completing my B.Sc in Physics at Ravenshaw I completed my M.Sc at Pondicherry University and later moved to New Delhi to get some idea. I returned to my home town in Sambalpur and started my preparation while attending IGNOU classes at GM College. It was my first attempt," said Vedbhushan.
Candidates who appeared in the written examination last year can check the details and the respective results through the official site of UPSC at upsc.gov.in.
The UPSC exam was held in June 2017 to recruit aspirants for as many as 990 posts including 180 in Indian Administrative Service (IAS), 42 in Indian Foreign Service (IFS), 150 in Indian Police Service (IPS) and the rest in Central Services (Group A and B) and various other government departments.
