Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), on Friday, issued the notification for the UGC NET 2017 exam registration process for which will start from August 11.

As per the notification, the National Eligibility Test (NET) will be conducted on November 5 this year.

While the last date for applying online is September 11, students can pay the fee until September 12. The exam fee for general category candidates is Rs 1000, for OBC is Rs 500 and for reserved classes is Rs 250.

Things to Know

The NET exam comprising three papers will consist of only objective type questions and will be held in two different sessions.

Qualifying percentage of marks for general category students will be 40 per cent in Paper I and II and 50 per cent in Paper III. OBC category students will need to secure 35 per cent marks in Paper I, II and 45 per cent in Paper III.

Similarly, students coming under PH/VH/SC/ST category require to get 35 per cent in Paper I and II and 60 per cent in Paper III.

Meanwhile, UGC will take a decision on the final qualifying criteria for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and eligibility for Lectureship before declaration of result.

Note: CBSE has made the use of Aadhaar authentication mandatory for students at the time of applying for the November examination.
