Section 144 clamped at Pipili market

Pipili: The Puri district administration today clamped prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC at Pipili market in Puri district in apprehension of violation of law and order as the BJP and the ruling BJD were scheduled organise separate rallies over the egg attack issue.

The ban order has been put for five hours from 10 AM to 3 PM in the day. While the BJP was scheduled to stage a demonstration at Pipili to protest against the egg attack on BJP leader Lekhashri Samantasinghar’s vehicle, the BJD had also planned to stage a demonstration in the Pipili area to protest against the egg attack on Agriculture Minister Pradeep Maharathy in Bolangir district.

The district police clamped the prohibitory orders in apprehension of any untoward incident during the two separate events.
